The Truth Behind The “Perfect” Instagram Photos

The Truth Behind The “Perfect” Instagram Photos

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past few years, you know a thing or two about Instagram, and maybe you’ve even used it a couple of time to snap a picture of your favorite food, only to realize that mashed potatoes and a plastic fork won’t net you any likes. You stood no chance against actual high-quality food photography, and rightfully so, as this stuff is really hard to pull off.
It’s like balancing chaos and order, it’s not an easy feat, as you’re about to see. Art requires dedication and, from time to time, even sacrifice. So, for their awesome photoshoot “A Kitchen Lived In: Perception vs Reality”, Wren Kitchens teamed up with five popular bloggers to reveal what lies a perfect Instagram post may be hiding. You’ll see how smart cropping, right angle and some filters can turn a chaotic kitchen table into a top-notch Instagram post.

As you can see, being a parent is a full-time job, and there’s only so much you can do about the chaos around you. Thank god, there’s a crop option.

That’s a very messy way to serve yogurt. Almost feels like it was… staged.

All that mess for a tiny veggie pizza? Give me a break.

I guess this is supposed to be a salad… question mark? Well, at least it looks healthy.

So what have you learned here today? That’s right, “don’t play with your food” and “if you do play with it, at least make sure you have a perfect Instagram post material, and not just a pile of mashed potatoes”. Have you got any food-tography skills? Show me your links in the comments!
