Top 10 Movie & TV Characters That Turned You Into A Man

There’s a point in every boy’s life where he starts looking at women and thinking about more than just talking to her. It’s a natural transformation into manhood, which is the point in life where you can control those thoughts and not act on them. Some people never reach this stage. It’s not their fault – if you’re looking to blame someone, blame the society that doesn’t force them to control their basic urges and animalistic train of thought to achieve something.
Anyway, back in the day, female actors were sometimes cast for no other reason than to cause this “awakening” in young boys. Why? Because it made them more money. And ever since we’ve invented money, it’s been pretty much all we’ve cared about. Since the journey to adulthood is supposed to be a beautiful thing (it’s not, we all know it), let’s take a look at some characters that were written into scripts for no other reason than to make us realize we can’t keep watching Pokémon for the rest of our lives. Spoiler alert: you can totally watch Pokémon for the rest of your life, if that’s your jam. You do you.

10. Sandra Bullock
It’s pretty ironic to make a movie about a character’s emotional progression as a nice person, and then display her like a piece of ham. But that’s what happened in Miss Congeniality.

9. Cameron Diaz
The love interest for Jim Carrey in The Mask.

8. Christina Applegate
Pretty much had to put Kelly Bundy on this list, right?

7. Uma Thurman
She was cast as the seductive Poison Ivy in Batman & Robin. Comic nerds all over raved.

6. Michelle Pfeiffer
Those Tim Burton Batman movies, huh? First Poison Ivy, now Catwoman. Tim sure does know how to pick ‘em.

5. Famke Janssen
“GoldenEye” had the best Bond girl.

4. Kate Winslet
Also known as “the only reason any man has been able to watch Titanic from start to finish”.

3. Sarah Michelle Gellar
Let’s be honest here: Buffy the Vampire Slayer had nothing at all that would appeal to the male demographic, yet all the guys I know have seen it. And not just watched an episode or two – I mean start to finish.

2. Carrie Fisher
Star Wars Episode VI was a weird experience for a lot of nerds. Jabba’s palace will always have a special place in their hearts.

1. Tiffani Amber Thiessen
She was Kelly in Saved By The Bell, and she sure did make an impact.
